God First Baseball (G1) was established in January of 2018 with the goal in mind of creating an environment for young baseball players to play in a Christ centered program. G1 is a non-profit 501c3 organization that is based out Bryan, Texas but consists of players from all over the Brazos Valley. Through this program, young athletes are given the opportunity to make strides to not only improve their baseball fundamentals, but also improve their understanding of what Jesus Christ did on the cross so that they can be leaders both on the field and off the field with other likeminded athletes. At G1 Baseball, we believe that through the game of baseball, these young men can grow physically, mentally and spiritually to become the men that God wants them to be.

G1 Baseball was founded by Nathan Boyd with the encouragement of his family and friends. Nathan was born and raised in Bryan, Texas and attended Allen Academy for 13 years.  He was a natural athlete and participated in almost every sport he could. In 1998, he was drafted by the Chicago White Sox and declined the offer to continue his education and baseball career at Sam Houston State University.

During his time at SHSU he pitched under the command of Coach John T. Skeeters for a total of four years, but suffered a shoulder injury during his junior year. Nathan went on to finish out his career but did not return as the same pitcher after the injury. During his time at SHSU, he met his wife Jamie and they married in 2001.  Together they have three spirited blonde headed boys, Gage, Cannon and Gunner.

And he said to them, "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel

to the whole creation."
